Abstract :
This paper examines carrier recovery in GMSK modulation using MAP motivated technique. This method exploits the AMP representation of CPM signals. Here we have considered Single pulse approximation of GMSK signal for MAP estimation of carrier phase error. Phase error variance of the single pulse approximation and two pulse approximation for MAP estimation of carrier phase, as a function of SNR is simulated using Monte Carlo methods for comparison. This method is found easily implementable as compared to Non linear carrier recovery techniques like squaring loop and fourth power loop. The phase error signal simulated using this method is also shown in this paper.
