Abstract :
This is an intentionally provocative and speculative summary of recent literature on neural control mechanisms in baroreflexes, including computational modeling results and functional hypotheses for further investigation. The focus is on nonlinear neuronal mechanisms and connectivity patterns that may underlie experimental observations and that suggest either place coding of pressure or selective processing for dP/dt rather than P
