  • Abstract
The volume resistance of RTV silicone rubber was adjusted by adding conductive fillers. By applying RTV silicone rubber with different conductivities to the different parts of an insulator, the electric field distribution was configured to reduce ice forming at the shed. Experimental results showed that the icicles on the coated porcelain insulators were notably shortened compared with those of uncoated porcelain insulators, and the reasons were discussed.
