Abstract
The authors describe how an online computer system has been used in the regionalized newborn screening program in California to provide overall management, tracking of cases requiring follow-up, laboratory quality control, revenue collection, and monitoring of program functionality. The system also acts as a tool for research and epidemiological studies. To date the expanded program has screened over three-million newborns
