Abstract :
We examine the applicability of different channel estimation techniques for EGPRS (enhanced global packet radio system) modems. Correlation and least squares (LS) techniques are analyzed and compared. The LS technique is presented as the candidate for EGPRS. Finally, possible modifications of the LS algorithm are discussed
