Abstract :
Describes a simple and cheap transducer for breath detection over 24 hour to be used together with Holter ECG monitoring, for heart rate variability studies. The proposed sensor is based on the strain measurements induced by the ribcage movements on an armonic steel beam. The metrological analysis of the transducer showed a good linearity, a low zero-drift, a low temperature drift and a satisfactory dynamic response
