Abstract
The paper proposes a method to construct full-diversity spreading codes for the multicarrier CDMA (MC-CDMA) systems based on evaluation of the maximum-likelihood multi-user detection (ML-MUD) performance in the frequency selective fading channels. The codes are constructed by offsetting the phase of conventional orthogonal codes and can achieve the maximum diversity gain with ML-MUD even for full-loaded systems. Simulation results show that the performance of single-user detectors can also be improved by the proposed method
