Abstract :
Grounding provides the protection of equipment and people from hazardous conditions within the electrical system. The ground conductor and connection to earth must be of sufficiently low impedance and have the current carrying capacity to prevent the build up of excessive voltages. Adequate grounding also provides the noise level control required for sensitive electronic systems. The author discusses electrolytic grounding system and lynconite backfill characteristics, and soil resistivity and ground system resistance testing
