Abstract :
In climate mode lings or earth system mode lings, remappings (done by couplers) play an important role in exchanging physical quantity data between different models. By surveying remappings in couplers and the general form of high-order remapping schemes, we present a hybrid remapping scheme to apply proposed schemes in current couplers without modifying remapping modules of couplers. We take a 2nd-order conservative scheme as a test case, establish a parametric parallel performance model and compare computation and communication cost between the traditional and hybrid implementations.
