Abstract
Industry standards governing motor repair methods are either nonexistent or inadequate, leading users to write their own based on familiarity with repair industry practices, which necessarily differ from those used by equipment manufacturers. In addition, users need to evaluate individual repair shop capabilities. The author explains one public utility´s approach to these issues.<>
