Abstract :
The author points out that the trend today in injection-molding machine control is toward PLCs (programmable logic controllers) in conjunction with distributed processing. An examination is made of this approach. The distributed processor concept is outlined along with the functions of the CPU. Also described is the IP 252 module which controls all process functions. The operators panel and temperature control processor are discussed. Finally, the capability of the PLC to be connected to a suitable local area network is described.<>
