Abstract :
A CPLD (Complex Programmable Logic Device)-based indoor wireless optical communication system utilizing white light-emitting diode (LED) is developed in this paper. A digital signal source based on CPLD is designed to produce transmitted digital signal. A driving circuit is made to drive LED to emit light. Signals emitted from the LED pass through the free space and then collected by the optical antenna. The photoelectric converted signal is amplified, filtered and processed by the processor. The processor is designed in CPLD to implement the Manchester coding, code element synchronous extraction, burr elimination. Experiments are done with the developed visible white LED optical communication system.
