Abstract
A damped flexible sandwich beam system described by partial differential equations with boundary conditions is investigated in this paper. The system is transferred to an abstract evolution equation in terms of the system operators defined on appropriate Hilbert spaces. A variable structural control problem for the system is proposed, and an equivalent control theorem for the system are obtained by means of semigroup of linear operators. Finally, a simulation result is presented.
