Abstract :
In this position paper, we present an initial Problem Oriented Engineering foundation for a small part of Pattern-Oriented Analysis and Design (POAD). We argue for the interpretation of software design patterns as instructions for transforming quality requirements into an architecture and a ´stress test´; and show, incidentally, how to reuse an existing software component and its justification in a new development.
