Abstract
A four-port model of a coaxial cable segment illuminated by an electromagnetic pulse is considered. It is shown how the four-port model can be used to obtain the response of the cable segment with various loads attached between the shield and ground and between the inner conductor and the shield. It is also shown how the four-port model of a single segment can be combined into a four-port model for a multisegment cable. Some examples are given of the results obtained from an implementation of the model on a PC-based workstation. Results for both single-segment and multisegment cables are presented
