Abstract :
In through-the-wall imaging radar systems, the synthesized images may not provide sufficient range and cross-range resolution for visual classification and identification of the targets. Target movement and target Doppler characteristics can be used to combat resolution limitations and improve object discrimination. However, slowly moving targets and targets moving perpendicular to the incident waves render target motion ineffective in high-resolution imaging. We utilize the target´s polarization properties and introduce time-varying polarization signature estimation based on polarization time-frequency distribution.
