Abstract :
This paper investigated the properties of antennas located in different places on automobiles. Two of these hide the antennas from view and comply with car manufacturers´ wishes to keep the aesthetic body design intact. The performance of these hidden antennas is not incomparable with the reference mast antenna situated on the roof and provides diversity operation possibilities. The currents generated in the car body are important in determining the radiation characteristics particularly the vertical and horizontal polarisation performance.
