Abstract :
Linear metro system is developed for urban transportation which is driven by linear induction motor (LIM). This system blends the design principles of conventional rapid transit system and automated people mover system. A dynamic simulation model with ADMAS/Rail is presented in this paper. In the model vehicle which is fixed with radial axle bogie is regarded as a multi-body system and the track is regarded as rigid foundation. Vehicle mounted LIM interacts with the reaction plate (RP) fixed on the track. The accuracy of model is verified by comparing radial axle bogie vehicle with non radial axle bogie vehicle. The dynamic simulation model is also verified from radial axle bogie vehicle model with LIM and radial axle bogie vehicle model without LIM. As an urban transportation system we checked vehicle safety of linear merto system with two evaluation indices of derailment coefficient and rate of wheel load reduction. From simulation the dynamic performances of linear metro system is better than traditional rail transit.
