Abstract
This paper proposes an active switched quasi-Z-source inverter (AS-qZSI) topology, which is based on the classical qZSI. The proposed AS-qZSI only adds one switching device and diode to the classical qZSI, in order to increase the voltage boost ability. In comparison to classical qZSI under the same operating conditions, the proposed AS-qZSI provides higher boost ability and achieves lower voltage stress across the switching devices of the main inverter. The performance of the proposed AS-qZSI topology is verified with both the simulation results and the experimental results obtained from a laboratory prototype based on 32-bit DSP.
