Abstract :
This paper presents measured performance and interference data for PCS 1900 and UMTS in a co-site (co-located) outdoor environment. The investigation was done using a typical co-site measurement scenario. In the scenario, the PCS 1900 and WCDMA BS systems were co-located at the same site and the corresponding devices were separated from each other. The results show that with 5MHz spectrum isolation and careful planning, both systems can co-exist in a co-site environment and the experienced performance degradations can be kept to a reasonable level.
