Abstract
In order to increase the communication capacity and reduce the cost of the satellite communication ground stations, more and more ground station antennas need to work in dual-band. A novel dual-slot structure mode converter is presented and investigated for a L/C (L-band: 1.8∼1.87 GHz; C-band: 3.7∼4.2 GHz, 5.925∼6.425 GHz) dual-band corrugated horn. The measured results show that the corrugated horn using the novel mode converter can offer a low return loss better than -20.9 dB, circular symmetric radiation patterns and low cross-polarization peak levels below -20 dB over the L/C dual-band.
