Abstract
A wideband active phased array antenna using open-ended rectangular waveguide as radiating element is investigated. The results of computation and simulation show the antenna has very high simultaneous bandwidth over 20% and wide beam scanning capabilities up to ±45° in X band. It can be used in very high resolution (better 0.1 m) SAR/GMTI imaging radar.
