Abstract :
The Digital Beamforming (DBF) technology can not only improve the performance of phased array radars, but also can extend their function, so it has been increasingly used in modern radar system. This paper introduces an active phased array 3D air-surveillance radar system based on the receiving DBF. The system consists of planar array, DBF modules, DBF processor, etc. Design consideration for transmitting shaped-beam and receiving beam are discussed. Some experimental results are also presented in this paper.
