Abstract :
This paper presents a generic simulation framework for restoration protocols in SONET mesh networks that use digital cross-connect systems as their transmission hubs. We describe the simulation tool and analyze a proactive restoration protocol. We include experimental results that validate the use of the proposed simulation model for the performance evaluation of such protocols
