Abstract :
Presents the results for a subband encoder for still pictures, using adaptive deltamodulation as the main encoder. The image signal is separated into four subbands using conventional separable 2-D filters, and the individual signals are encoded using 2-D ADM. Two different types of ADM encoders are used and very good quality is obtained at 0.75 bpp-1.25 bpp
