Abstract :
This paper presents a novel video transport mechanism over ABR service. The mechanism acts on both video compression and ABR flow control. The video encoding rate is adapted to the available bandwidth in the network while taking account of application quality of service requirements. The proposed ABR flow control mechanism guarantees the fairness among the concurrent ABR connections and ensures their minimum requirements according to their characteristics. We have validated our proposal by simulations based on MPEG video traces
