Abstract :
This paper reports a design of array signal receiving system and the experimental results obtained for it. The goal of the design is to build a general array signal processing environment which is able to serve a wide range of applications, such as beam-forming and direction of arrival (DOA) estimation. To achieve high speed, easy controlled steerage of the directivity of the antenna array, synchronous programmable analog phase shifting (PAPS) modules and field-programmable gate array (FPGA) control schemes are introduced. The proposed design is applicable to cost efficient smart antenna systems, and is expected to help enhancing system flexibility.
