Abstract :
In this paper, to estimate the directions of impinging signals in dual-frequency using a single sparse array, the element position optimization of dual-frequency sparse arrays is presented. Based on the relationship between the correlation spectrum and space spectrum of MUSIC, and the Dolph-Chebyshev procedure, we proposed a novel approach to improve the direction finding estimation and a successful design procedure for dual-frequency sparse array by arranging the element position using genetic algorithm (GA) in optimizing the correlation spectrum and minimizing the asymptotic errors covariance of MUSIC in dual-frequency simultaneously. The estimation performances with the optimized sparse arrays are also compared with some common arrays.
