Abstract :
The Zinc function excited codecs of Hiotakakos and Xydeas (see Proceedings of the ICCS 94, p.865-9, 1994) and Sukar et al. (1989) were further developed by including a novel wavelet-based pitch-detector, by reducing its complexity and by eliminating the need for transmitting the Zinc function positions. The bit allocation of the table shown summarizes the most salient codec features
