Abstract
This paper presents a dynamic virtual path (VP) survivability admission control mechanism for survivable ATM networks. This scheme integrates the dynamics of demand admission and logical spare capacity assignment for maximizing network resource utilization ratio while ensuring full traffic restorability under any single link failure scenario. The simulation results show that this mechanism is very effective
