Abstract :
A new kind prediction method, periodic prediction, is presented. It is proved to be more effective than ordinary neighboring prediction in compression of the kinds of vibration signal that have a strong periodic characteristic. Also, a switched-adaptation idea is introduced, which makes this prediction method more adaptive and more applicable
