Abstract :
In this paper, a compact exponentially tapered slot antenna (ETSA) with invert-L slots edge (ILSE) structure is presented. The proposed antenna is composed of a step-shaped transition from microstrip to slotline for feeding arrangement and a tapered patch with invert-L slots edge as radiation element. Compared to the conventional ETSA version, the proposed design skill of introducing ILSE at ground patch has the capability to extend the impedance bandwidth to lower band and improve the radiation characteristics at lower frequency bands.
