Abstract :
A low cost millimeter-wave (MMW) vector reflectometer is proposed. The reflectometer contains a coupler, a scalar power sensor and three-state termination. Three scalar measurement values corresponding to the said three states of the termination are measured to obtain a vector value of a device under test (DUT). Since vector error correction technique can be applied to reflection measurement acquired by the proposed reflectometer, very accurate measurement is achieved. Also the proposed reflectometer can be very reasonable in price since only scalar measurement apparatus (e.g. power meter) are used in it. Some devices have measured by both the proposed reflectometer and commercial MMW VNA in 76.5GHz and the measurement results of them showed good agreement.
