Abstract :
Substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) was used to realize the function of conventional perforated conducting plate FSS. SIW FSS is investigated using finite difference frequency domain (FDFD) method. Analysis results show that the SIW FSS properties are similar to conventional perforated conducting plate FSS. With proper design, the FSS using SIW technology can achieve the same performance with its unique advantages of light mass, easy fabrication and low cost.
