Abstract :
The integrity of data has tremendous effects on the performance of any data acquisition system. Noise and other disturbances can often degrade the information or data acquired from these systems. Devising a fault-tolerant mechanism in wireless sensor networks is very important due to the construction and deployment characteristics of these low powered sensing devices. More over, due to the low computation and communication capabilities of the sensor nodes, the fault-tolerant mechanism should have a very low computation overhead. In this paper, we present a novel methodology to hierarchically design and implement a protocol for checking the integrity of data from a sensor-node.
