Abstract :
A new approach to recognize radar targets in imaging radars is presented. In this investigation, we deal with the statistical properties of the scattering mechanism for several types of radar targets, e.g., rough surfaces and vegetation canopies. For these targets, the use of deterministic techniques such as the target decomposition cannot be used alone. Therefore a statistical approach is applied to evaluate target parameters. Results show that this approach is a powerful tool to analysis of natural targets.
