Abstract :
Simplified analysis of radiation pattern and input impedance of the printed strip monopole antenna fed by a CPW is proposed. Using the simplified space-domain integral equation, the current distribution on the printed strip monopole antenna can be determined. Then, the radiation field of the antenna can be derived via using the combination of two-step procedure and uniform theory of diffraction. In order to derive for the input impedance, we model a problem as a transmission line terminated by the load impedance. Then, the impedance transfer equation is applied. The validity of the theory is demonstrated by the experiment. Good agreement is obtained.
