Title :
Combined lattice-tubular electric pole
Author :

Abstract :
A novel kind of steel electric pole, developed by the Israel Electric Corp., is briefly described. The pylon consists of a tubular bottom part and a lattice upper part and combines the advantages of a tubular pole (small area occupied and security) and a lattice tower (transparency, low cost, availability of auxiliary devices for a stock pole). The lattice is similar to the upper part of a regular lattice tower. The tubular part can be a standard spiral welded or a special order tube of round or polygonal cross-section. The pylon is intended to replace, in most cases, the tubular poles.
