Abstract :
The IS-95-B standard will provide moderate data rates of up to 115.2 kbps through the use of multi-code transmission. Transmission of user data from a single mobile station on multiple code channels causes some concern due to the implications on the stability of power control and capacity. In this paper the impact to reverse link performance due to voice and data channels, where the data channels employ multiple code channels, is assessed with respect to SNR, and SNR standard deviation. Also, it is found that a smaller power control step size with respect to that available for IS-95 also has a positive impact on capacity
