Abstract :
Traditional method directly do two times of pulse compressing to achieve the high resolution range profile of target illuminated by frequency modulated stepped signal. The method neglects the fact that the mainlobe of the first pulse compressing can be widen under the `tight restriction´. In this paper, the processing of the two times of pulse compressing is analyzed, and a method called `weighing the first pulse compressing´ is proposed. The mothod can suppress the sidelobe of the first pulse compressing, and can make full use of the information of the echoes. The results of computer simulations are in agreement with the analysis of theories.
