Abstract :
We estimate the relative capacity of a DS-CDMA multiple cell wireless network employing short codes and adaptive receivers. In particular, a space-code adaptive receiver is presented and analyzed. Both optimum minimum mean squared error (MMSE) and direct matrix inversion (DMI) algorithm-based receivers are considered. Several training sequence lengths are considered. The sensitivity of the receivers to the rate of DMI adaptation is also analyzed. Finally, relative capacity is derived taking into account the performance losses due to DMI imperfect adaptation with respect to MMSE
