Abstract
Sliding-mode control has such advantages as robustness, simple algorithm and good dynamic performance, so sliding-mode control was introduced into three-level (TL) converters. The design of sliding-mode control buck TL converter, including sliding-mode control surface design, equivalent control, stability and existence proof, was given as an example. Experiments of sliding-mode control buck TL converter and traditional PWM buck TL converters were carried out in order to analyze and compare the dynamic performance. Analysis results verify that dynamic performance is improved greatly in the sliding-mode control buck TL converter compare with traditional PWM buck TL converter
