Abstract
A new current-compensation circuit system for POLs is introduced. The proposed circuit employs MOSFETs, resistors and capacitors without any discrete magnetic devices. The system is activated only during transient responses and its total power loss is very small. Simulation results revealed that the output POL voltage is maintained within 5 % of 1.5 V during a load change between 1 A and 50 A. Furthermore, experimental results indicated that the descent width of the output POL voltage is improved by approximately 85 mV of 1.5 V during a load change from 1 A to 10 A.
