Abstract :
The bit error rate (BER) on the forward link of a single cell CDMA system using concatenated Walsh/m-sequences is studied. The BER results obtained by the Gaussian approximation, by the characteristic function approach and by Monte Carlo simulation are compared. A modified RAKE receiver is found to have better performance than the standard RAKE or correlation receivers especially for Rician faded multipath channels with Rice factors greater than 2 dB
