Abstract :
Short description of FPGAs and their CAD tools Design methodology issues: Algorithm refinement (sampling, quantization effects) Modularity (library of IP blocks) Systematic search for the best compromise between control performances and architectural constraints (see A3 section) Overview of contributions and limits of FPGAs has been proposed. A short survey of FPGA-based controllers for industrial systems have also been presented. Full and timely examples are presented to illustrate the benefits of an FPGA-implementation: Current controllers for AC drives Speed controller for AC drives.
