Abstract :
The work presented in this paper exploits the use of adaptive arrays in CDMA mobile radios for the enhancement in outdoor communications performance. An RLS-inverse-based MMSE beamformer has been introduced to the so called the two-dimensional (2D) beamformer-RAKE or spatial-temporal (S-T) array receiver block of basestation system for dramatic improvement in SINR and BER performance. Then, design and implementation of adaptive array basestation are described. Subsequently, outdoor field tests and corresponding performances are presented as partial experimental results with the CA 3TS (CDMA adaptive antenna array testbed system) developed at ETRI
