Abstract
The effects of incorporating two kinds of detectors, the fading memory average of the acceleration (FMAA) and the fading memory average of the innovation (FMAI), into adaptive variable update rate algorithm for tracking targets are investigated and compared. Effective windows are used in the beginning and end of the maneuver to make a decision how to adaptively change the sampling interval. Simulation results show that the FMAA makes a better reflection of the maneuver compared with FMAI to get smaller errors in target tracking.
