Abstract :
This paper demonstrates how electromagnetic ray tracing can be used to study urban vector channel propagation. High spatial resolution (λ/10) computer simulations of the vector channel at 900 MHz and 1.8 GHz in several typical urban multipath environments and downtown Austin, TX are used to study spatial signature variation. When applicable, simulation results compare favorably with measurement data taken using the 900 MHz smart antenna testbed at the University of Texas at Austin
