Abstract :
This paper describes a prototype, real-time adaptive beamforming system designed for the PACS low-tier PCS standard. An overview of the system architecture is given, along with a description of relevant implementation issues. Results are presented demonstrating the effectiveness of the system in rejecting strong co-channel interference and reducing fading. The effect of the time-varying environment on the required beamformer update rate is examined in detail
