  • Abstract
In this paper, we have presented the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) solution for a lossy multiconductor transmission line (MTL). The primary advantage of the FDTD method over many existing methods is that nonlinear terminations may be readily incorporated into the algorithm and the analysis. When semiconductor devices such as diodes and transistors terminate an MTL system, nonlinear effects should be considered. Here, the equations describing this system are modified by substituting nonlinear loads for linear ones. As a numerical example, the transient response of lossy coupled transmission lines terminated with diodes which are modeled with nonlinear resistance and capacitance is presented.
